Fishing Reports

Weekly News

October 19, 2008

The open water season is coming to an end.  I hope all fisherman had a good season and are looking forward to next spring.   I will continue to post fishing reports monthly throughout the rest of the fall and winter.   Please let me know anytime if you would like to book a trip next open water season.  Thanks!

The Chain of Lakes:

October 19th:  The chain is very quiet  this time of year.  There isn't hardly any fishing pressure which makes it a good time to fish for walleye.   I had some clients out on the chain two weeks ago and my client bagged a nice 5 pound walleye.    I'm planning on fishing the chain a few more times before the ice to take a crack at a trophie walleye.

Other Area Lakes:

October 19:   I've had an addiction with casting for muskie the past two months.  I hit up Lake Minnetonka with a friend last weekend to check out this trophy fishery.   We saw all kinds of muskie on the surface including a giant.   We were unable to hook a fish, but a lot of fun to see so many fish.

Yesterday, I hit up Island lake early morning and it was cold.   The lake water looked ugly so I believe the lake was turning over.  We only saw on muskie surface, but it was still a beautiful morning. I plan on hitting up the Siren area for some pike, bass, and muskie next weekend.
