Event Guidelines

1. The club encourages you to fish with your children or a community youth.
2. Please practice CPR- Catch, Photo, and Release
3. Families should complete event card and return it to Andy Schommer before leaving the boat landing.
4. Adults should be fishing and helping youths in their boats.
5. Please share your photos with others through emails and www.bigcatchfishing.com so they can be posted for others to view.   The Chetek Alert would like to see your photos as well to possibly publish in their sport section.  
6. Please come early to social events to allow children to play together, to meet other club members and share fishing techniques.

Dear Fishing Families,

It is my pleasure to be joining you and your family on the water this up and coming open water season.    Last summer was a lot of fun joining up with families from Chetek and going after some pan & game fish on our local lakes.   I hope everyone is excited about fishing together this year and most likely landing some nice fish.    I made some adjustments to the schedule this year from suggestions by casual conversations with families.  Please read the following important notes to remember about our club.  

1. The Kick-Off event will be held at the Pokegama on Sunday, May 16^th in the banquet room for a pizza party.    Everyone is asked to donate $25 dollars on that evening which will go for pizza and towards the grand prize at the end of the summer.  If you are unable to attend the party, then your entry fee is $10.

2. Families will receive a folder this year with event cards, lake maps, and a list of all current families in the club.

3. This year, families can or should start fishing at anytime on an event day.   I encourage everyone to attend the social events to meet others and share your fishing stories.

4. This year, Dad’s and Mom’s will have their own night to fish together.   Kids should be watched by a responsible adult at home (Dad or Mom not fishing!)   No kids allowed on those two nights.    I think this will add a new twist to the club and maybe some more fish in the boat!

5. New families are welcome to join our club.  Please fill out a registration card so your family is officially part of our club, so we can get you on our email list.    The registration cards are located on www.bigcatchfishing.com

6. Please share your fishing success with others through emails and send pictures to bigcatchfish@charter.net so they can be posted on our link on the www.bigcatchishing.com web site.   Also, the Chetek Alert has graciously awarded us publicity this past season.   I will keep them informed on our clubs accomplishments and events.

7. If anyone is interested on searching for prize donations for our club, please let me know.   Last year I was able to round up some generous donations, but I am not very good at asking for free items.

8.It is important that I receive your event card after your family is done fishing so I can share your success with others and most important that you get your card in the drawing box for the end of the season “Grand Prize Drawing!”  You can leave them in the back of my Red F-150 or mail them to my home.

9. Please call or email me if you need any help fishing our events.

10. Finally, it is important you have a good attitude towards fishing with your kids.   They will learn so much about the outdoors with you on the water this summer.
